Every year during this festive season, families and neighbors enjoy the beautiful sights of Christmas lights. Oftentimes, neighborhoods light up with different colors and themes for the holiday season, but these festive holiday lights are not limited to neighborhoods. Here is a list of our favorite holiday light shows in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.

Meadowlark Winter Walk of Lights

Location: Vienna, Va

Dates: November 9th- January 6th.

Visit the Meadowlark Gardens to experience holiday lights like no other. With a collection of over 500,00 different lights, the outdoor trail, which is just over a half a mile long, is surely a sight to see this festive season. Ticket prices vary depending on the age of the participant and time of admission. In addition to the trail, feel free to visit the Snowflake Shoppe for your seasonal goodies. LightUp Fest

Location: Ashburn, Va

Dates: November 8th- January 2nd.

This light show experience is a must-do this holiday season. Located in One Loudoun, the LightUp fest combines traditional lights and lantern shows, wide selections of food, and stunning acrobatic performances. Brookside Gardens

Location: Wheaton, Md

Dates: November 16th- January 1st.

Visit the Brookside Gardens walk-through display to enjoy  over a million lights shaped into flowers, animals, and other beautiful sights to see. Explore the different gardens to experience the numerous exhibits, and then visit the conservatory to see their special model train display. US Botanic Garden

Location: Washington, DC

Dates: November 22nd- January 1st.

Visit the Botanical Gardens in DC to take part in  their annual extravagant holiday festivities. Discover the theme of the year in the model train display featuring train stations from across the nation, explore the memorials and monuments made from natural elements, and enjoy the holiday plants and topiaries.
