In 2020, we started spending a lot more time at home. Many of us found out that we don’t love our spaces as much as we thought. If home renovations are on the top of your list for 2021, take these four things into consideration before you get started.
What’s Your Budget?
Before you get started on any plans, you need to decide how much you are able to spend on home renovations. This will affect everything from which projects you can complete to the finishes you choose. It also helps guide the renovation process to hit the most important areas first.
What’s Your Design Style?
Even if you can’t describe what your style is like, you can search for Instagram and Pinterest for images of spaces that you like. Show these to your design team and they’ll be able to craft a room you’ll love to have in your own home.
What Do You Absolutely Need?
It’s always a good idea to start with a list of non-negotiables. Obviously, you need a bathroom and kitchen, but do you need a tub or only a shower? Do you need an island or only countertops? This will vary from home to home so be sure to take your needs into consideration.
What Would Be Nice to Have?
You should also make a list of things that are not necessary but you would really enjoy having in your home. That way, if there is extra room in the budget, you can bring a little more joy to your home renovations.
