3 Tips for Hosting a Great 4th of July BBQ

The 4th of July is a time for American families and friends to gather and celebrate the birth of our great nation. Being the biggest celebration of the summer, Americans love to commemorate Independence Day by hosting amazing BBQs. If you’re planning on hosting your friends and family, then we have some tips to ensure that all your guests have an amazing time.

Great Grub

One thing all your guests will remember is the food! There’s nothing more American than burgers and hot dogs, and there’s nothing wrong with serving the classics. But if you do go that route, then make sure that your side dishes and fixings are top notch. Try putting out all the fixings for a classic Chicago dog and make sure you have fresh onion, pickle, lettuce and tomato for the burgers. If you want to shake things up a bit, you might try serving pulled pork and cole slaw. It’s simple to make and can serve a large group.

Celebrate America

Every great 4th of July BBQ should be decked out in red, white, and blue. But try looking around for innovative decorations that your neighbors won’t have. Patriotic bunting is a classic decoration, but make your BBQ pop with some red, white, and blue paper lanterns. They will look amazing after the sun goes down. You can also put up a lighted American flag with LED bulbs. If you have a large, open space nearby then definitely consider a small fireworks show. But make sure you take every safety precaution you can. If you don’t have the space (or the permission) to shoot off fireworks, then sparklers are a great way to delight all the kids.

Make Sure Everyone Is Comfortable

The final key to hosting a great BBQ is making sure all your guests are comfortable. Your guests will need somewhere to sit and eat so make sure you have comfortable patio furniture. If it’s a large party, then you should set up additional folding tables and chairs. Also, the 4th of July tends to be one of the hotter days of summer, so make sure your older guests have somewhere cool to rest. Have plenty of ice cold water available and consider placing misting fans around your back yard and patio.

With good eats, comfortable seats, and lighted patriotic decorations your 4th of July BBQ is sure to become an annual staple. Your friends, family, and neighbors will look to you each and every Independence Day to wow them with yet another great holiday.
