Looking for a reliable list of fun, family-friendly activities for this fall? We have condensed some of the best festivals and events in DC, Maryland, and Virginia into one list for your planning convenience:
Take the family out on a long walking tour for an hour and half. Heads up, though: one of our favorites requires an online reservation. The tour begins at the southwest corner of 17th St. and Constitution Ave. NW. Explore a few educational sights while enjoying a beautiful fall day – the tour even includes an exciting scavenger hunt!
Take your family on an adventurous trip to a 16th-century English Tudor village in Annapolis, Maryland. Enjoy live performances, jousting tournaments, music, and exciting street acts! Indulge in a variety of food (like turkey legs!) while exploring the art of glass-blowing and other creative activities. Ticket prices range from $11-$26 – children under age 7 enter for free! Make sure to buy your tickets online first.
Is your family ready to take on a ghost walk that is spooky and fun (but not too spooky for your youngest)? The Fells Point Ghost Walk has ongoing tours every Friday and Saturday until November. Ticket prices range from $11-$14, and children under 12 can go free. Don’t forget to buy your tickets online!
Visit Historic Downtown Manassas on October 6th from 10am until 5pm to take part in the Fall Jubilee. This is a free festival with a variety of live music, community booths, and activities for both adults and kids. Parking and admission is free, but rides must be paid for onsite.
Dress your family up in Halloween costumes on October 20th at 12 pm for the Air & Scare. Get ready for an array of fun activities including a round of trick or treating, spooky science experiments, and creepy crafts. Air & Scare is a free event at National Air & Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly and parking is $15.
This fall themed festival and corn maze is located in Leesburg, Virginia. Activities run until November 6th and tickets must be purchased online.
