Every year, millions of people set aside time to spring-clean their homes. But that doesn’t mean they necessarily enjoy it! If that sounds like you, check out these tips before you get started to make the process much easier.
A Plan of Attack
The first thing you need to do is walk around to each room in your home and make a list of what tasks need to be completed. Try to be specific without being wordy. For example, instead of saying “dust”, be more specific and say “dust the blinds”. It might also be a good idea to write down approximately how much time you think each task will take. Then you can better schedule your cleaning routine.
The Necessary Supplies
Make sure you have all the basics on hand such as microfiber cloths, paper towels, glass cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, etc. Also, keep in mind any special items you might need for your furniture. There are special wipes you can use for stainless steel and leather furniture, and special solutions for hardwood floors.
Something to Listen to
Whether you prefer to listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, make sure you have enough of them to cover the time you’ll spend cleaning and that they are easy to access. Then pop in your headphones or turn up the radio and get to work. This will help make the cleaning seem to go by faster.
