The old saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” is so true, especially with a little bit of creativity and ingenuity. Next time you’re tempted to throw something outdated or even damaged away, take a look at it with brand new eyes and upcycle that unwanted item into something fabulous. Take a look at three easy projects that transform those common household items into something brand new!
Mason Jar Magic
We all have mason jars, jelly jars, and empty vinegar bottles stored in our pantry or in boxes in the basement. Put on your crafty hat, and transform these forgotten gems into lovey vases. It’s simple. Spray paint with your favorite color or colors, fill with flowers and arrange on a cocktail or dining room table.
Pretty as a Picture
This idea is for all you jewelry lovers and fashionistas. Take an old forgotten picture frame and transform it into a jewelry organizer. Remove the glass (to use for another project!) apply burlap or other heavy fabric to the back where the picture would go. Attach decorative pins and hooks onto the fabric to hang necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry. Either lean against a wall in a bedroom or hang on the wall for all to enjoy.
Bookcase Crates
If you have a book collection with no bookcase, consider repurposing unused wooden crates. They not only have a vintage flair but offer over the top organization. One crate will look smart setting on the floor filled with your favorite reads, or multiple crates hooked together and hanging on the wall will create your personal library. You decide whether to paint them or leave their original finish. After all, we’re sure each one has an interesting story to tell.
At Regency Furniture we encourage you to get creative and turn something old into something new.
