3 Ways To Remember Soldiers On Memorial Day

Thanks to the brave American men and women who serve in the military, we enjoy our freedom. On Monday, May 25, we will celebrate Memorial Day and honor all the veterans who risked their lives for us. This year, celebrations may look a little different than in the past with smaller gatherings and more intimate celebrations at home but we can still pay tribute to the red, white, and blue. Here are three at-home activities for thanking our fallen soldiers.

Pay Tribute to the American Flag

Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember and thank the soldiers who died while serving our country. Hang an American Flag on your front door or line your sidewalk or driveway with mini flags to recognize the meaning of this special holiday. If you don’t own a flag, create one using art supplies you have at home. This educational and fun craft project is an opportunity to teach your children the history of Old Glory and Memorial Day.

Have a Patriotic Backyard Picnic

This year, large gatherings are postponed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a patriotic, fun-filled picnic in your own back yard. Decorate everything red, white and blue, throw some hotdogs on the grill, warm up an apple pie, crank up some patriotic music!

Send a Care Package

Memorial Day is an opportunity to send a much-needed care package to an American soldier overseas. The United States Post Office has special Military Care Kits for mailing care packages. Some items that are needed and appreciated are quality socks, soap, baby wipes, sunscreen, and lip balm, Include a thank you letter to let them know how much you appreciate their ongoing service.

Memorial Day is a time to honor our fallen heroes and to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in America. Regency Furniture honors all our American soldiers and heroes.
